What are your plans after completing Ph.D. program?
Being
an advocate for educational outreach and educational reform, I entered my PhD
program in a hope that the training in the program will help tap my human
potential and elucidate new opportunities which will allow me to become an
agent of change for our backward educational system particularly those in the
marginalized areas of our society.
After
completing my Ph.D., I will continue on in academia as a public senior high
school teacher until some other opportunity—one that is more productive in
uplifting my countrymen—presents itself. Nevertheless, I would love the
opportunity to be a full professor in a higher education institution in charge
of shaping a curriculum and shaping students. It would be my great pleasure to
be part of a team responsible in addressing the nation’s urgent need to educate
its citizens efficiently and comprehensively.
In
addition, I would love also the opportunity to further enrich and widen my
knowledge and seek for a richer experience by pursuing more advanced studies in
science education, research, statistics or other related fields in any
well-recognized university abroad, preferably in western countries, and be
involved in some research projects and international conferences.
Moreover,
I would love also to pursue my desire in writing—journals, articles and even
books—to share to the public my own and others’ knowledge, expertise and
experiences about education, science and other important subjects. I am hopeful
that my works will serve as my long lasting legacy to my countrymen.
